bumassjeff
Ok so i just got my kicker ZX 2500.1 today to hook up to my 18'' Fi Btl. All is good except i know i need to make some hella electrical upgrades for this thing cuz im running off a stock alt and 4 gauge wire but my question is is there a way to under power the amp because if i turn the volume up as high as i usually listen to it it just cuts out the sub then comes back on. So im just wondering if im just under powering it or if i just dont have somthing going right for some reason. Thanks alot!

dmanson
i can't really justify off back what the problem is potna but i will definitely say upgrade to 1/0 and no less. you'll be choking your amp of power bro with that 4ga. try upgrading and doing the big 3 and we can go from there. roscoe1129
Yes it is absolutly possible to underpower an amp. If you dont have the electrical to back it up it will shut down on hard bass hits! get you a bigger alt, do the big three, a better battery, and get some 0 guage to that amp!
