I am wanting to do swappable ports, but no NOTHING about it or box design for that matter. I am running 2xSDC2.5 12’s with one AQ1200 off a Kinetik 1800 with 0gauge all the way back. Stock alt in a 2005 Ford Explorer. Right now I am running a pretty large, slot ported box. I would like to do swappable flared ports, but not sure the best way to accomplish this nor design of box. The end goal to have a box for daily in the 30’s hz and for competing in low 50’s hz were my resonant frequency is in my car. Current box is 32w 14t 28d. Port 6w 12.5t 20d and I get a little over 143db

My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.

Sergeant_Skyrim Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 I'm not sure how to do it with flared ports, but "Bassman" has a Jeep I believe with 4 15s walled off where he's made a removable port for it. I think how it works is you tune the box/wall to the higher tuning number you're looking for, and then build a removable port to go into that one which will end up lowering the tuning of the box (because of the smaller port area). You also need to make sure that with the original higher tuned port you give it plenty of port area per cu ft of box size so that when you add the removable port you won't be choking the subs with too small of a number.
