6k is legal man. You can definitely fight that, and win. Did you keep box? It should say Dot approved. I believe HIDs up to 8k are legal.

well guys! they have arrived and they are installed!! installation process was ok. i got confused a bit with the 9004/9007 plug u have to wire yourself. i had to look it up on the site how to do it. but other than that. it was a breeze and nice fun little challenge. enjoyed installing it. and so far so good! im DIGGIN THE HID"S!!! THEYT ARE SOOOOOOOO BRIGHT!! I LOVE IT!! its like day time at night! love the color! exactly what i wanted! so far so good guys! for some retarded reason on the camera the color came out a bit yellowish..idk y. cuz they are not yellow at all. not ONE TINY BIT! love them! i need to get better shots.

Yeah I wanted to do a motorized projector but I don't know how hard it would be so I decided to sit back and watch how Scooters comes out and if I like it enough I will follow suite and use the same but I do want to add a few things to mine like switchback LED's, etc.

This WAS going to be my next mod until I got a $162 ticket for 6k hid's....

yeah man, 6k hids and 6k eye brows. went to court and didnt get it reduced at all so im going to pretrial march 1st.

yeah man the officers here are straight up ridiculous. i got pulled over in 8th grade for riding my bike on the wrong side of the road

had them for almost a year. hell ive even had 10k's, been pulled over many times and no officers said anything until this bitch (yes it was a female) started pulling me over. now she has me pinned and pulls me over every time she sees me. or at least it seems like it lol

and yeah she pulled me over twice just for headlights...

it doesnt say anything about dot approved man. i keep all of my boxes too lol. but i have some ideas to impress the judge. and actually if its not white or yellow it illegal...

If you like them, great. But personally I would only install HID's in cars with projector headlights. Those stock reflectors have WAAY to much glare and are quite annoying when someone is behind you with them. If you plan on switching to Projectors in the future and I did not see that, then my bad.

i thought it was only in tall cars like trucks and suvs that it annoyed people in front of u? but actually i looked for some for the benz. and i only found like 2 and they kinda look gay, cheesy, and ricer, and expensive...so if i ever do go projector it would be custom.

um..NO.

There are NO aftermarket HID's that are legal/DOT approved. The only HID's that are legal are those that come as original equipment on the car/truck.

They are illegal everywhere, its more of a question of how its enforced where you live/drive.

Where i live, they don't really mind, but if they're looking for an excuse to pull you over, its a completely valid one and they can do so.

I've been pulled over for a tail light out and they never even mentioned them. Hell, I had one side installed and i was waiting on a part for the other and I got pulled over for having a headlight out and they never even mentioned the fact that they were HID's.

Both times i just got verbal warnings, it was late and they just were pulling me over to make sure I wasn't drunk as they had nothing better to do at 2:30am, lol.

So basically it all varies by local enforcement.

However, I will say, you're alot less likely to get pulled over for it if you are sensible and get 4-6k and not 8-12k and ride around with blue and purple headlights.
