If you like them, great. But personally I would only install HID's in cars with projector headlights. Those stock reflectors have WAAY to much glare and are quite annoying when someone is behind you with them. If you plan on switching to Projectors in the future and I did not see that, then my bad.

+1 Reflector-based housings are not meant to focus that much light energy on the road. They don't have the sharp cutoff that projector HIDs do and that is what keeps projecto HIDs from blinding oncoming drivers.

Projector retrofit with Morimoto or OEM ballast/bulbs only for me.

6k is legal man. You can definitely fight that, and win. Did you keep box? It should say Dot approved. I believe HIDs up to 8k are legal.

No HIDs kits are legal...

ONLY hids that are legal are OEM that come equipped on cars from the factory.

The only proper way to run HIDs in a car not originally equipped with them is a projector retrofit. (Which technically still isn't legal.)

I have retrofitted my truck and car. Ive never had any problems at all with cops. But of course I don't run retarded color HIDs. I stick with 4300-5000k

I also say DDM tuning.

I have ran ddm tuning in all my trucks. Never had a problem replaced bulbs after two years because they looked washed out. Other than that still have original ballasts and they work great.
