redrider Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 well weather(high wasnt even 50) wasnt the only thing that slowed down progress on this box today... this afternoon it warmed up to where it was barable outside so i tried to sand the box down to get ready for filler, well my palm sander took a crap on me so i have to go get another one.... i think i might get an orbital sander instead but here is what the box looks like now. not much different but can see i trimmed off the extra fabric and for the most part trimmed out the speaker holes. audio setup HU: sony Amps: cadence csa5000.1(running at 1 ohm 1200w x 1) Subs: pair of cadence s2w8-s2 Doors: cadence zrs65k's component set Box: customed glassed box tuned @ 35 hz with one 4" port....built by me Underhood: powerbastards.com H/O 200 amp alt, big 3 upgrade(4 awg) and optima red top battery Wiring: SQ audio 0 awg amp kit Cadence Sponsored build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/133648-96-s10-cadence-audio-build/page__hl__cadence

redrider Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 well wasnt 100% this weekend so didnt really feel like working on the box. i spent most of the time getting supplies to get it finished. picked up an orbital sander and so far with the short time i worked on the box im liking the way it is sanding down the box but i did find a small issue after sanding the amp shelf..... the resin didnt soak enough through the fleece into the wood so it started to bubble up so i had to go ahead and cut the section out as seen above and sand the edges and then i added some glass around the edges and sanded down. there ended up with a few bubbles but i was able to cut/sand them out and tomorrow i will added another layer of glass where needed and sand again. i also found a soft spot on each side of the box that will need addressing before and body work can officially begin. and my port(not cut to size yet) sitting on my false floor audio setup HU: sony Amps: cadence csa5000.1(running at 1 ohm 1200w x 1) Subs: pair of cadence s2w8-s2 Doors: cadence zrs65k's component set Box: customed glassed box tuned @ 35 hz with one 4" port....built by me Underhood: powerbastards.com H/O 200 amp alt, big 3 upgrade(4 awg) and optima red top battery Wiring: SQ audio 0 awg amp kit Cadence Sponsored build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/133648-96-s10-cadence-audio-build/page__hl__cadence
redrider Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 well started some body work today but it was cut short due to weather and i ran out of sand paper lol. i got one side pretty much smoothed out and was going to start laying some kitty hair mixture down on the other side when i found a soft spot that needs addressed so i started to glass that area of concern. tomorrow is another trip to the hardware store for some resin, brushes, and lots of sandpaper lol. in the mean time i took a few pics of what i got done in the short period of time working on it this morning. trouble area spot then body work audio setup HU: sony Amps: cadence csa5000.1(running at 1 ohm 1200w x 1) Subs: pair of cadence s2w8-s2 Doors: cadence zrs65k's component set Box: customed glassed box tuned @ 35 hz with one 4" port....built by me Underhood: powerbastards.com H/O 200 amp alt, big 3 upgrade(4 awg) and optima red top battery Wiring: SQ audio 0 awg amp kit Cadence Sponsored build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/133648-96-s10-cadence-audio-build/page__hl__cadence
