G'day

Well this is not so much an equipment update as it is just to show off my sexy new walls lol

Fired the system up this evening to find out where it peaks now with the changes we made but straight away there was a buzzing noise that could be heard through the door speakers :-/

On top of that somthing has happened between about three days ago and today because the 6x9s are not working (diffrent amp to the one running the front doors)......

If that all was not enough to turn a day bad it seems that the gains on the bonecrushers were "bumped" as the amps were out of the car so now the amps have to come back out again to set the gains lol....... in short we had zero time on the Termlad this evening.

I should have all of those problems sorted by the weekend or at the very least the bass will be sorted :D

This Sunday there is a dB Drag comp and car display at the local auto store so I will be getting some fresh footage and editing it up, there are some people just finishing up some interesting builds so there should be plenty of big bass! you can youtube search theexgotspl for my videos.

Anyway one bright note in a rather average day was getting the walls on my car as I mentioned.

They are 18s for those wondering.

G'day

Been a while since my last update

Our last play around with the EX took us back a few steps and after some consideration we are back on the horse and things are full steam ahead.

(a couple of the designs tried and failed are shown below)

inner wall we tried using behind the flat baffle seen in previous pics = fail

innerwall2.jpg

4th order with port running behind the head = fail

1_IMG034.jpg

different style flat baffle with a port down each side = fail

IMG046.jpg

where it all ended up lol

IMG047.jpg

The Vibe subs are out and will more then likely end up in the daily driver, we have ordered different better subs and they should be here by the end of next week. We are also redesigning the entire box and baffle design.

As we have everything out we will also be rewiring the entire system plus a couple of other bits will be cleaned up.

We have been using 0g wire untill now but earlier this week I picked up the cable below :)

15m length and the cable is 185mm2 or in other words it is HUGE....

G'day

Can't say to much before next month Kevin lol but I can say that we are looking at pushing past 160dB (no one in my state is doing that yet)

I can say though that the weird shape of the current box will be sorted out to make things easier and the baffle we use this time will be the 52mm MDF/Jarrah peice.

G'day

There is a comp at the end of the month I want to take the car to so rather then a last minute build we done a bit of work on Saturday, we are waiting for the subs to turn up so we decided to do somthing in the hatch.

We have moved the top amp down behind the bottom one so we can use shorter runs of power cable.

we took everything out of the hatch so we could take a look at things and decide what to do.

ampsout.jpg

we decided to change the cabling as everything was out so had to drop the battery bank

battdrop.jpg

this pic shows the fans mounted onto the mounting board of the front amp while the rear amp has kept it's perspex and fans in the same place.

rearfans.jpg

here is a pic (taken on a phone) of the Earth wires ran, this cable is thick! but still looks very neat.

cabblefitted1.jpg

this pic shows a rough idea of how the hatch will end up looking, of course it will be neat and also there is a coupleof things still to be added to the hatch.
