You don't have the space for the 15"s with the 17.75 no way around it.

The only way to answer that question with any level of accuracy is through modelling, I haven't done so with those particular subs, I'll check them out later.

Digital designs unforyunately likes to play with their specs, LAME practice, gathering information on the T-S parameters from different sources would suggest that a single 18 would be louder than the 2 12s on your new dims and a 35Hz tuning. The curves also show that both are meant to be tuned higher.
