Decaf Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Alright, so the other day I slowed down Rodeo by Juvenile and it sounded like complete garbage. I'm almost positive that it's because of the type of file I saved it as, so what type of file DO I save/export it as to get the best possible quality? I think I might've left it at the default accidentally. did it sound fine before you exported it? ctrl+p, change quality to both highsync, 32bit float, 44100hz next import a song, go to export and hit options, use preset, quality insane/320kbps, variable speed fast Channel mode Joint Stereo, or Stereo? if you use Bit Rate Mode Preset and choose Quality Insane its not an option if you choose to save in another Bit Rate Mode choose Stereo

Is this as "Save as type: MP3 files"? That's what I'm attempting to save as at the moment, pardon me if I should be saving as a different type. Build in progress

I'm not sure why there is a difference but you can see in this pic I do not have the option when choosing Preset, if you use VBR/Average/Constant choose stereo
Sergeant_Skyrim Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 That's weird, I've got everything set as you said and it's still giving me the option. It was originally set to Joint Stereo but I've now changed it, thanks man Build in progress
TigerTony Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 I'm not sure if its just me or if someone else has had this problem with some songs in audacity. When i'd try to load them It'd load and then when you go through to listen to it it sounds Really bad, Like. super slowed down past any recognition of the original song. It's happened to me with a few songs. Can't say I've ever had that problem...your best bet would most likely be to completely delete Audacity off of your computer and then re-install it with default settings. EDIT: But now that I think about it, you're basically saying that only certain songs give that result? Are they songs from CDs you have or maybe versions that you've acquired some other way and might be crap quality anyways (I only ask to help out) Yeah, only certain songs do it. I remember when Wiz's new album came out It happened with one of the songs. But today it happened with hottie tottie from usher. And I know i got the Raymond vs. Raymond Album from a friend a while back.

Decaf listed what everything should be at throughout the thread...I'd find and list it at the moment but it's just about night night time and I've got accounting class in the morning >.> Build in progress

I'll try to set them. And I noticed it's aboutt 4x longer at a little past 20 minutes for a 5 minute song that i just noticed.

Is the song 20 minutes even if you open it in iTunes or wherever else instead of Audacity? Could possibly be something you edited before and then re-saved to your computer Build in progress

You can open it into iTunes from its current location and it'll play as the 5 minute song, but when you try opening it in Audacity it comes in as a 20 minute song? Sorry if you feel like I'm repeating myself, just trying to make sure I fully understand Build in progress
