Rich859
I'm looking to get a new H/U for my truck. I can only fit a single din. I'm wanting to put in a flip out touch screen that costs under $250. Are there any decent ones out there for that price?
Nine8SST
Kenwood KVT514....used or MR can be had on ebay for about that. Thats a pretty tall order for a decent HU though. Rich859
What about farenheit, clarion, or power acoustik? I'm not real knowledgeable on H/u's that are good besides Pioneer and alpine, in which I can't afford a pioneer, and havent seen any alpine singledin flip outs. HatersGonnaHate
I've had experience with some power acoustic flip outs and they are not bad for the price. They don't compare to kenwoods and alpines, but they get the job done. Don't trust farenheit, but clarion is a trusted brand, so that might be a good option to look into. Rich859
Ya I heard the same about farenheit, wasnt sure. I have clarion speakers in my doors and they are nice so I thought their H/u must be decent. I just want other's opinions who have flip outs, because my current one is a dinky, sony xplod non flip out
HatersGonnaHate
Steer away from boss, farenheit, and anything that you would think is too good to be true lol. Under $200 full of all the bells and whistles.... Too good to be true. I bought a boss just to see what it would do, had it for a week and the screen crapped out on me. You can find decently priced, slightly used kenwood flipouts on ebay. I got mine there for $170. Kenwood kvt-512, the previous version of the one that Nine8SST recommended. If you're looking for a beginner flipout, you can try power acoustic. If you want one that is trusted, start saving up some money to get a great one. Point being, it would be really shitty to blow $250 and take a chance on an "iffy" h/u, have it fail on you, then turn around and look for a better one, end up spending $450 on it.... So at the end of it all, you'd be $700 in the hole. Explore your options, then scan the net for some reviews on them. If the good out-weighs the bad, go for it. If the bad out-weighs the good, I'd say no. CJSmith
Just try a single din that plays dvd's and get sun visor monitors. Quote *Rebuid in progress*

HatersGonnaHate
^^^^^^ That is a great option as well. You can find a single din like that for a decent price, and it should have video outs on the back, then just run those to separate monitors. Monitors can be found for relatively cheap as well.
