Another cheap LOUD system, pioneer 12´s and 1200 watts in a trunk car :)

Hey guys, as the tittle says, another cheap ass system lol, i´ve been doing this kind of things for almost a year with some pretty good results actually, nothing different on this car, it´s from a very good friend of mine that owns a Kia Rio , the trunk model, his son just came to the world and the guy doesn´t have the money to spend on a big ass system, he´s been using the same equipment since 2005 if i´m not mistaken, but it was time to upgrade it a little bit, so, he contacted me

Anyways, the budget he had to upgrade the car was only 400$ , he wanted a new box, new battery and new amplifier with that and get 138 dbs on the meter

The car as i got it:

Electrical: Stock 80A alternator, stock Varta 15AH battery and cheap ass wires.

Subs and box: Big ass box with small ports, pioneer 305 12" subs , they are 400 watts DVC 4 ohms that he bought around 2005, their new model it´s the 309 wich cost about 55$ a piece hehe

Amplifier: Boss audio 40000000000.1 that had 2 25A fuses lol

These are the poor old subs

Starting score: 133.4 @ 48 hz

Score required by the owner: 138 dbs

My goal: At least 141 dbs

Stage 1: Electrical !!!

1) I changed the battery for another cheap ass acid battery but brand new and way bigger, something like 700 amps lol, cost: 80$

2)I did the big4, i gave him the wires since i had them on my storage, that´s what friends are for, right??? anyways, he just spent 10$ on terminals

Stage 2: AMPLIFIER!!!

After checking the prices on the market and the small electrical i was working with, i needed an amplifier that could give me rated power spending only a couple hundred dollars, audiopipe1500.1 was a very good option but they are power hungry, so, we went ahead and ordered an hifonics BRZ1200.1 so he didn´t need to upgrade even more the electrical or change the 4 gauge wire he had...

3rd stage: The Box!!

I´ve tested these kind of cheap ass pioneer 12´s A LOT in the last few months, they get stupid loud on small power using 1.5-1.6 cubic feet per sub , so , i designed the new sexy looking box (yeah right) with a 3.1 cubic feet internal space, 2 4" pvc ports with some heated flares on a 38 hz tuning, remember something guys, we play higher frequencies around here, you guys like a 45 hz peak while we love something peaking close to 50 hz , wich is even better for numbers the most cases

Old pvc´s i had on the storage:

Starting with the box, printing vynil inside of it to make it smooth, pvc on the pressure points of the box, rounded over the sub holes and that´s about it

Box done!! man that shit is ugly lol, but you know what i say, uglyness means LOUD hehe

Amount of money spent:

Amplifier: 200$

Battery: 80$

Terminals: 10$

Box: 60$

TOTAL = 350$
