Need help with box design. 4 12s

Ok so here is (again and again and again) a suggestion on your dims, port back subs up, simplest to build slot ported box:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 34.826 Hz

Vb = 9.043 ft^3

Subwoofer Mounting = Flush Mounted

External Height = 23.5 in

External Width = 35 in

External Depth = 28 in

Port Width = 4 1/4 in

Cut List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.

* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 35 x 28

Left & Right Sides = 26 1/2 x 21 1/4

Front & Back = 35 x 21 1/4

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

Front to Back = 22 1/4 x 33 1/2

Some artistic touch as well, just for ya!

i already did your said you were working on a desgin and that you would show me later.

i like that idea my main concern is that the box would be right up against my back door at 32 inches in depth. should i go with 30 inches instead or even 28

If you were running Sundown SA-12s for example that box could be made much smaller, like 1.75 cubic feet per sub, DDs are different and work on high port area/ net volume (check their site) .

forgot you messaged me. this is what i had in mind. it's 9.5 cubes tuned to 35. yes the ports are facing up, but you will still get plenty loud.

im thinking im gonna sacrfice the hieght and go with 25 inches ive modifyed both desgins

I changed the design on the post above, now is on spec, needed to go to 22.5h but no more.

OP you must have 4.5 inches of airpace in front of the port, if you don't I may have to do the box a little taller and reduce depth. Or a Slot facing up.

Joe, your port is still right up against the back hatch, BAD idea.

mine is slightly smaller, which should help since you're overpowering the subs a considerable amount.

2.5 cubic feet it´s too big for a 512, i would use 2.1 - 2.2 c/f per sub

hehe not that much of experience, i always learn something new everyday, BUT, i´ve tested DD subs a few times already, and, the 512 loves something around 2 cubic feet, the 1512 loves something around 2.3 cubic feet, and from there, big ass boxes FTW lol , my 2512´s had 2.8 cubic feet per sub and man that was LOUD, i´ve seen people using 3.5 cubic feet for a 9512 on a daily box, that´s awesome lol
