I don't fully understand the chemistry of CA, but is it not necessary for the accelerator to come into physical contact with the CA? edit: accelerators needs contact to start the reaction. in reality, the 24 hour cure is the most important, the activator hardens the outside into a shell, but doesnt harden the inside. On the spider, i put it down and then spray activator around the spiders, on the surround i put it down in sections(each section being between the mounting holes) and do 1 at a time. Double rms and playing way below tuning will cause the damage I did to it. But played like that for a few months so no complaints here.
