Jgrizz
I won't be wanging on it to that point. Though that's hard to say now haha. I would feel better keeping at or a little above the 600 watts of clean power. So now I'm looking for an amp that will give 600-700 watts clean. I would prefer to have an amp that is rated higher than 600 or 700 watts so I am avoiding over working that amp and leading to badness. I had a bad experience with pushing my last amp very close to its max output and it would be burning after 30-40 minutes of play. (was a JL amp so it wasn't bad quality was just little experience on my end) Im looking to avoid this problem again, so amp suggestions would be great, would prefer to pay around $300 give or take. Thanks so far for your help h23a3lude mbquart onyx 1000.1, same amp im running my girlfriends single sa-12 to @ 1 ohm, loves the power it sees, they run like 150-170 new shipped Haha beating me to responding. Sweet. That sounds really good. Does it ever run hot?
BeAlLsTaR13
sa-15 will eat 900w daily on a clean signal easily, can pound it for hours even i had my saz3500d @ .5 to my sa-12s for 3, almost 4 months till i sold em to upgrade i have 1kw going to my girlfriends single sa-12 so i think about 1k would be right on the power for a single sa-15, good box clean power and you'll be set Alright, what amp you thinking then? How big of a box would you put this bad boy in? about 3-3.5 cubes or so, since you want lows i'd say 32-33hz tuning, which you'd be safe to play down into the upper 20s if you wanted to I won't be wanging on it to that point. Jgrizz
Wow I have to say that 12 is looking really good. Can not wait to see what the 15 will do. Really good to hear that the amp is good. Thanks a bunch for your help man. Looking for a pretty good build and glad I'm going with Sundown. Made my choice easier
teamace24
Tune the box depending on what you listen to since you can gain some output by tuning higher like say 35hz compared to tuning low say 30hz. But if you listen to a lot of low stuff like 30hz and down then tuning low is great. Personally i listen to rap rock stuff like that so tuning higher is better. 34-35hz Quote 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
LoudBimmer
I'm running saz2500 to my SA 10's . Had them in 2 different boxes. 1st was according to box suggestion from sundown , other was half of the suggested volume. Worked well in both of them. Never got stinky, just really warm.
