What crazy claims have you heard people make?

Crazy claims.................

A minivan with 6x9's...................................That slap.

I was literally just going to post a link to that

Lol, any stock car can shake its mirror when you set the bass all the way up. It's gonna sound like shit but hey, it makes the mirror shake, like that's impressive.

Today before my class Someone i know was like " I have two 10's in my truck under the seat. Doing 103 DB's each. So like 206 Total." I laughed so hard before my class.

ha I have a similar story, a guy said he was hitting 107000 decibels because his speaker puts out "83 decibels per watt" on a 1300 watt max amp.

My sealed setup is loud and sounds good. Maybe you haven't heard a proper setup yet.

Well, whenever I hear sealed setups, they sound extremely weird to me, like it's missing something whenever I hear them, yeah they sound clean but it when goes deeper, it almost cuts off that deep bass I look for, so I feel like the port is extremely important.

Like coming from the Home Audio world, a sealed box always look incomplete to me cause I've always either seen bass reflex, 90 degree aero ported, and I even seen a Passive radiator speaker, and it's not about being loud, because it's extremely easy to get loud in a house cause of the walls reflecting, and reinforcing the sound, it's about trying to achieve High Fidelity.

My friend told me you can't just build a box, cut a hole, and put a woofer in, and expect it to sound good, it needs labyrinths, and a port. His uncle, who fixes loudspeakers, and has a nice collection of vintage stereo amps also wondered why people in the car audio world used sealed boxes because he rarely sees people with ported boxes.

Plus, I find it really difficult for a bass drum sound to be reproduced properly on a sealed box because of no port because a woofer can't really reproduce repercussion by itself.

That's how I look at it.

But I did look through your build log, and I love the work you didTheScottishBear

Thx. bro I appreciate it. I can understand why most people don't like sealed esp. when it comes to music like most dub, skrillex, chopped and screwed, slowed etc, my wall can't touch it. There is also the matter of output. If I built my wall ported it would definitely be louder. With the windows down at around 70% volume it becomes pretty uncomfortable in my car. Not saying I am in or even over 150 but I have more output than I know what to do with. The settings on the HU are flat and I use my sub volume on my Clarion eq but it never goes over half. (ssf at 25hz) It would be nice to feel that 20hz goodness but I can always hit up a show and hear you guys' systems.
