Stee-Z Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 today i was just driving to work with my bass down low, then it kinda just starts playing about half power of what it usually does, then it would kick in sometimes and go to normal then half power again. Now it won't go back to normal, i checked RC's, all good. power and negitive are all hooked up good, no fuses blown, remote all good.....why is it doing this..? Skullz Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Bad output from the H/U. Bad input on the amp. Possible short in the rca patch cords. Possible fuse not fully blown. Possible issue inside of the amp. Possible wiring issue inside the box. Possible coil problem. I would first start with a 1k tone set to repeat and measure your voltage output from the H/U rca's to make sure your getting proper voltage out, if your getting good signal out then check the rca'a connected to the H/U to make sure your getting the full voltage to the amp. Pull the fuse and replace it and see if that has changed anything just as a measure of possibilities the cross off the list. If everything else checks out and your still not getting full power you might want to pull the sub and check that nothing has come loose causing you to have one working coil, check the ohm load on all coils to make sure that there is nothing wrong with them or the wiring and if your still having issues then lastly you might want to swap amps and see if that finally changes anything. They might check out ok, but their is probably a broken lead somewhere on the RCAs that is constantly breaking and making contact as it moves while you drive.
