F150 Box Help!

Recommended Posts

The baffle suggested is like the one in the pic (from a different design), goes all across the height and width if the box:

The main problem with that baffle style is that you need to cut through it to make your port, Many people have reported bad results attempting to cut that. Anyhow I can provide a cut sheet list for that type of baffle if you want.

Ported enclosures work best with port/sub on the same face, if the port has no breathing room in front of it then you aim it where there is, another case is when using aero ports, most times wont fit and mounting on a different face is the only alternative.

You can also choose the side on which you want the port eitheer passenger or driver.

Agreed. I'll just use more bracing to reinforce it all.

Joe, do you think it would be better to tune lower? I listen to a variety of music but 70% of the time it's rap with low bass. Also, would it make a difference if I took an inch off the width and added an inch to the hight? Just so that it's not at my max dimensions and gives a bit of breathing room to move it a bit :)

Just wondering :P

Stop pulling stuff out of your ass, Joe.

First off, as long as you cut out the port right and sand it if needed, there will be NO problems doing the port like that.

Second, there are plenty of exceptions to that. in some trucks subs up, port to the side works best, in most SUV's subs up port back works best, and in some trunks, subs forward port firing to the side works best.

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

Can you show me what you would do for my truck? Tuned about 33-34hz. Max dimensions are on the first page :) Try not to max it though, give it a bit of wiggle room. so like take an inch off the max hight and max width. Depth is ok at max

Decide what advise you will take and I wil perform the mods, if you listen to rap type of music mainly, I would probably go to 33Hz.

A port up / sub front can be done without a problem, it even has the advantage that you can go with an all across width/height baffle without cutting through it.

Can you go a bit wider?
