Omega5002 Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 I don't know about VS Threads in the Home audio section, but I'd pick the Yamaha for the more power, and lower Thd. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
larrys95civic Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 It really depends on the size of speakers you are running, but in all honesty home theater speakers are super efficient now so wattage really doesn't matter. Your powered subwoofer is the only thing that I'd concern myself with as far as wattage. Omega is right about the lower Thd though. I can't speak for Onkyo we haven't carried their line in 2 or 3 years but as far as the Yamaha goes it's a nice unit. HDMI 1.4b, 3d pass through and all that jazz. I'd probably look at the 571 though, video upscaling is the shiznits, my kids watch a ton of shows not in HD yet so having the upscaling built into my receiver lets me enjoy it as well. I hate having a bad ass tv looking crappy on a non HD feed. I'm running the Yamaha Aventage RXA2010 and LOVE it! Around that range check into the Denon 1612 nice little unit as well.
