Box design question

This is my first post here so hello.

so ive build a few boxes before so im experenced but i wasnt happy with the last 2 boxes for my re sx 18. Im putting it in a 08 impala so the trunk is big but limted trunk opening room. my max height is probably 14-16 inches with a max depth of 32-36 and width about 30-32. subs obviously top mouted. before i have done a square port, and a long slot port with the sub firing down on the port wall which i didnt like. The best i can get is 30x30x16 with a 5x14.5 port. giving a tune of 30 and a volume of 5.3. Any way i go bigger with the box it makes the tune way low. If someone could put some imput, it would be very appreciated.

You should talk to "412 CVX"

sounds like you need to frame your whole trunk as a box, maybe make the port up in you back window.

aero ports should save you some room try playing around with those in torres.

so i went with a 15"Hx32"Wx36"D box with a 5.5"wide by 13.5"tall port that is 26"long. any thoughts?

Sub up in a trunk type of vehicle is not recommended, I guess a couple of 12"s is what's nice for many of those vehicles.

the trunk is huge the only reason its top mount is because i cant fit a box 18" tall into the trunk opening. and i dont think i will ever have another set of 12s...ive done sub up with this sub in the car before and it slamed very nicely, i just wanted a different box with more port area than the last one and sub not firing down onto the port wall either.

With the spec above you are tuned around 29Hz, net volume is within limits, your port area is below recommendation.

i know its tuned pretty low but i couldnt get it much higher. and how much port area does that sub want, thats over 12in/sq per sq/ft.
