TheNewbie
Honestly man, I might be willing to send you some 4gauge Knu for dirt cheap. Just depends if I figure out this whole shipping thing :l There's two car audio shops right down the road from my house, pretty much literally. I think I'm gonna stop by there after school one day next week and see what they'd charge for some wire. Problem is, one of them is one of those places that'll wanna do it for me and charge me for it. I hate going in there. Some of those guys are pretty cool and just like to talk about stuff, show you what you could do, give you ideas and whatnot. The rest of them always seem like they're trying to pressure you into buying something and letting them do an install for you. Don't get me wrong, I've seen them do some pretty damn sweet installs, but $125 and up for a 5 channel amp seems a little steep to me. Buy it online man, My local shop sells their wire 5 dollars a foot for 0 gauge, found it online same wire for 3. Herokight
I can't wait for my next setup. I'll have no trunk space though. It's the only place I can put my subs, and an 8 cu. ft. box will take up all my space in there along with the amp rack and any power cells. I'd take out my back seat and use it instead, but I'm just not ready for that. I transport alot of people and stuff. Quote Lane AKA HeroKight '96 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4 R.I.P. The one I was referring to kinda does some scamming. Never been in the other. I'll probably get it off the internet. I just like to shop around anyway. Bump4life
alright man well good luck! and im limited on trunk space too! nothing wrong with a pair of 10s, it can get the job done. unless your really talking about being serious. but that involves a lot of time and money Quote Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. Herokight
I'd like to be really serious. I have a feeling my set up will sound much better after I get the appropriate size power wire though. Quote Lane AKA HeroKight '96 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4 R.I.P. Herokight
Yeah its most likely starving for power my amp did thatt until I fixed it with another battery Wouldn't doubt it. It gets REALLY hot. I'm thinkin' bout going with something a little bigger than 4awg just for some "breathing room". Maybe run some 2 or 0? Definitely not going all the way to 1/0 or 2/0. Rebel4055
I have dealt with prime series amps. And it my experince with them being class A/B they will get warm or slightly hot. Nothing you can do. What I have found that fixes protecting issues when it gets really hot is a bad ground. Or too long of a ground. After I fixed that the amp has never been better. Oh and setting the gains correctly helps too. 4 gauge is plenty. Edited March 28, 2012 by Rebel4055 Quote Rest In Peace mother.
