Speaker baffles?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone used the foam speaker baffles before? They claim they are ment to get the speaker clean from dirt and such. I noticed when I installed my doors speakers it rained the very next day and the speakers had some water on them.. not good I assume. Would like to know if the foam baffles would affect the preformance or anything. Thanks

do you have a link to the baffles your using, baffle are supposed to create a sealed area behind the speaker to help cone control and midbass reproduction. If theyre soft foam then they really wont do much but retain water if your window seals are leaking.

Well I don't have any yet, but I would like to get some to keep the speakers cleaner. But would the foam baffles maybe choke the speaker and make it sound awfull or something?Would there be any downfall to using them?

Yeah, they're closed cell foam so they don't absorb water. If they absorbed water it would defeat the purpose.

I think they're worth trying.
