POPLERO
Has anyone used the foam speaker baffles before? They claim they are ment to get the speaker clean from dirt and such. I noticed when I installed my doors speakers it rained the very next day and the speakers had some water on them.. not good I assume. Would like to know if the foam baffles would affect the preformance or anything. jrchevy87
do you have a link to the baffles your using, baffle are supposed to create a sealed area behind the speaker to help cone control and midbass reproduction. If theyre soft foam then they really wont do much but retain water if your window seals are leaking. Jeep Wrangler TJ Hardtop Build
POPLERO
Well I don't have any yet, but I would like to get some to keep the speakers cleaner. But would the foam baffles maybe choke the speaker and make it sound awfull or something?Would there be any downfall to using them? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-aqZNg5q3Gv7/g_762/Foam-Speaker-Baffles.html I'm looking at these from crutchfield. 2008 TBSS Black Granite Alpine CDA-117 Clarion EQS746 AudioQue Supertweets @ dash Alpine DDT-s30 @ b pillars Alpine SPR-60c @ front doors Alpine SPR-60 @ rear doors Alpine PDX-f4 Second Skin DampPro KNUkonceptz Wiring DCpower 270amp alt Optima YT underhood *temp Two15DCxls Hifonics bxi2610 *temp saz4500 and 4 xp3000s coming soon. jrchevy87
thats some dense foam so it'll be waterproof, and ive used em and they help the power handling and midbass response, not as much as a plastic baffle but i think you'll be pleased if you use them Jeep Wrangler TJ Hardtop Build
TheBetterMethod
Yeah, they're closed cell foam so they don't absorb water. If they absorbed water it would defeat the purpose. I think they're worth trying. 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon Pioneer 9400BH Fi Q 15, SAZ1500dV3 The first build>>> http://www.stevemead...-outback-build/ 140.9 @ 36hz Sealed on dash!
