Ahh... Ok, you don't happen to know if the tones on the USACi disc are 0dB, do you? They won't let you use anything else for the burp classses. I wish there was another organization down here, USACi is so squirrely with their rules.

The reason I was going to use the -15 track is because the manual for the DD-1 says use track 7 for a louder system. I guess I just took that as meaning it would be the best numbers when metering.

The USACI tones are 0dB

I understand your logic because the wording is vague, but I'm suggesting the safer/proper solution

You would play the -10dB/-5dB track with sub level at max clean setting, then play 0dB and turn the sub level down until its clean also. When burping use the lower sub level, and maybe 1 click higher to see if a little clipping helps.

Gotcha, I honestly thought it was the other way around from reading the manual. Thank you very much you have been very helpful.

it would be pointless for an organization to give you tones that arent 0db. why would they want their competitors to meter lower?

sure you could use the sub level on your headunit and tune 0db at like +15 and play -5 and see where it distorts on the sub level (12 or whatever, idk) then do the same for 10 and 15. other than that, i cant think of anything for you to do

It would be pointless for sure but I could see them saying most music is recorded at -5 so lets put -5 tones on the disc. They wouldn't be doing it because they wanted their competitors to meter lower but more because -5 is the norm for music. You'd probably be surprised at how silly USACi is. I mean you can meter with the doors open. How many people actually drive around with their doors open?

Its the other way around kranny. For burping the tone would be the loudest, needing the least amount of sub level. Basically what tone you use for music would be where sub level would be at max, and becuase 0dB tones are louder, you would turn down sub level to for undistorted/clean burp power.
