Frequency setting question (need help!!)

Recommended Posts

So i have a pioneer HU, on the sub settings it has a frequency setting that can be set at 50, 63, 80, 100, or 125 hz, along with the sub level. What exactly does this frequency do exactly? is it the upper cutoff my sub will play?

The bigger question is does this over ride the frequency setting on my amp.

What do you guys recommend my amp be set at for the upper cutoff? Along with this HU sub frequency level?

AMP: Rockford T1500bdcp

HU: Pioneer Premier

SUB: DD 9518h sc

Edit: which frequency would make my setup sound the loudest and most impressive?

I honestly think it all depends on the set up, try different settings to see what sound the best. I used to have mine at 80, but my subs sound like doodoo from like 65+-80, so I set my crossovers for my speakers to 60 instead. sounds much better

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha
