Mha
About subs getting warm, I have an xl 15m2 wried to .7ohm on a dc 5k Bass knob on 0 most of the time . Any ways my dust caps an inverted tfs cap and it gets warm but how warm is to warm? Does that dust cap help or hurt it in any way? No smell that I know of. Sub sure did seam to break in quick a few days it seams like. Thank o the 5k
Noobtastic14
"hot" is "to hot" when your coil melts, tinsels melt, or if you're good both at the same time. The cap is really a silly way to gauge the woofers temp but if you feel it often enough during regular use you may be able to notice if it increases drastically one day. If you want something more concrete use the IR thermometer to recored average cap temp during use, even better if you can recored the magnet temp during use. Beat it till it brakes then you'll know what not to do the next time. -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional.
