manofthehour
I'm currently building a small box to fit in the back of my xA. I've built boxes before, but I've never been quite sure as to how to EXACTLY calculate the volume of the box and figure the port length from that... So here's where I'm at. I've got a box (roughly W:34", H:18", D:14.5"). I've got a volume calculator, I plug in those numbers and get a box volume; however, that is the volume of the box without a port. So I subtract a 31" long port length (H:13", W:4") from the volume of the box and get the final volume, then use that to find a more accurate port length? I am really throwing myself in a loop. If anyone can throw me in the right direction I'd appreciate it... draper
multiply port dimensions, multiply box dimensions and then subtract port area from box area. Make sure you are measuring the inner port and inner box so wood thickness wont be a factor. 97 crown vic kenwood hu big 3 mechman 270 amp alt 1 d3400 2 d3100 hiffonics collosus (bass) Hifonics Zues (mids and highs) 2 15in kicker l7s dynamat extreme sound deadner viper secured

manofthehour
Had to make the port W:3.25" to get 33Hz with the box dimensions said above if anyone else has an xA (or a small trunk/hatch). Fits nicely My stuff '06 Scion xA: -Alpine iDa-x100 -Alpine KTP-445 Power Pack -Polk Audio db6501 (front components) -Polk Audio db651 (back coaxials) -2 RE Audio SEX12D4s -Cadence F1200-1D - Custom box tuned to 33Hz - Kinetik HC1400 - 50 ft2 of Audio Technix sound deadner - Big 3 My photography page
