Im keep is simple, I am looking for subs 2 12" d4 or D2's? not sure yet Sa-12 i know are 600w ReSex12 are 600 w What would be a better choice? Running ina Cartunes custom Box ( currently have 2 JLw6's Half Burnt.... ) Running a NEW 1000/1d Specs JX Series 1-Channel Class D Car Amplifier RMS Power Rating (@ 14.4V): 4 ohms: 500 watts x 1 chan. 3 ohms: 750 watts x 1 chan. 2 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan. They get a bit on the warm side after some hard playing, but no coil burn or anything. TheNewbie Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 SA's can handle over rated, but it has to be clean power. The JL won't put out 2k for sure. I would say SA only because I've heard more about them than RE but I haven't delt with either hands on so I honestly couldn't tell you. TheNewbie Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Your wiring depends on the amp's configuration if it's 2 ohm, or 1 ohm stable. You will need a new amp, just as a suggestion. Not hating on your JL but there are many other brands that you could get would be tons cheaper and push the same amount, with the same quality. Sundown, DC, Audio que ect. JL amps are good. but yea for the money there are other brands that will give you plenty of power. but if you wanna stick with your JL amp your gunna have to make a choice. personally, id get D2 subs so you can wire them at 2 ohms now for your JL amp. if oyu want more power down the road, sell the JL amp and get audio que or a solid amp and run at .5 ohm nominal and after box rise you will be at 1 ohm hopefully or a lil more and you be golden. look at a 1500 watt amp if your looking to do that. but i would suggest some experience before you wire to .5ohm. need to do electrical upgrades and make sure your box rise puts you at 1 ohm. but do the JL amp with 2 D2 subs for now if you like that amp.
