MuRKRoW
I'm glad to see there's some interest! I finished assembling the box and did the majority of the sanding on sunday. I decided to throw it in my van because i'm too impatient and I wanted to show it off at work It's loud and sounds amazing! I haven't taken any pics since I cleaned up the wiring, but here was how it was temporarily setup yesterday: I forgot to take more frequent pics (like when I jigsaw'ed the baffle)... sorry! Here's a pic of the temp setup (before I cleaned it up today): I'll take plenty more pics tomorrow after work of everything cleaned up and of my van! Hopefully I can get a flex video up on YouTube too. MuRKRoW
Hey guys... sorry for such a long delay! I've been really busy with work and fighting a cold. Here's what it looks like now: The amp and battery are in a much better spot now. I cleaned up the wiring a bit from before, but it's still not the greatest. I drilled some holes in the back of the box and installed my new 8 gauge kicker power wire as speaker wire. I didn't want to have short lengths of this wire (I hate wasting wire) so that's what the bundle is coming out of the box. The zip ties made it look 10x better and everything is pretty well in place. What do you think? Any suggestions for improvement? Oh and as promised, here's a few pics of my van: It was nice that the flash from my phone reflected off the license plates so I didn't have to edit the pics! MuRKRoW
I went ahead and picked up 2 more batteries which brings me to 1 up front and 3 in back. My voltage is way more stable now and the bass sounds cleaner when I turn it up! The way I had to hook them up wasn't pretty, so i'll be buying more wire and copper lugs and redoing it all. I'll take pics after I've cleaned up the wiring Sound Solutions Audio ZCON 18 Crescendo Audio BC3500D JVC KD-R80BT headunit Alpine/Pioneer mids & highs 4 group 34 agm batteries Knukonceptz 3x0ga. terminals Kicker/XS Power 0ga. wiring

MuRKRoW
Thanks, it's getting there lol. Here's the next steps I have planned: *build an amp rack... the batteries will be hidden underneath it *fiberglass the inside and outside of the box and fiberglass the amp rack *hide wires under carpet or find a new way to run them *cut trim pieces to hide messy wiring Anyone like spaghetti? MuRKRoW
Well I've been having a lot of voltage drop with my alternator lately due to belt slip. I bought a gatorback belt and it still slipped. Every time I turned up my music, I would get a terrible screeching noise because the belt would be spinning faster than the alternator pulley. I decided to unmount my alternator and find out why it did that. The problem was that the alternator was slightly angled so the belt didn't sit completely flat on the pulley. Now I have no belt slip and my voltage sits perfectly at 14.3 at full tilt... even at idle! I'll try to make time to shoot another video with all my updates since it's been a while. Stay tuned... MuRKRoW
might wanna try using round dowels instead of square pieces of wood in your port. I've already started building a new box because my zcon 18 ripped it apart lol I'm still figuring out how I want to do it! MuRKRoW
Sorry that I haven't kept up with this guys. I've finished my new box and it sounds awesome! It's way cleaner/crisper and sounds much louder. Here are some pics from beginning to end. The inside of the box was covered in a layer of wood glue and made it really strong. I also used corner baffles this time around and the airflow is much better.
