Box Question

Ok, I'm wanting to build a new box just for fun with some scrap i have leftover. I want to do a flared slot port like in this build.

My question is, the box will be for only one sub with the port on the side of the enclosure. Will flaring still make a difference or not? And one last question is how exactly do you calculate tuning of the flare?

that build is also on this forum i think it'll still make a difference cuz in that box, each sub still has it's own chamber. maybe find that thread so you can ask him directly? name is thumper or thummper or somethin along those lines i think
