TheBetterMethod
Oh, and I don't have room for the sub to point forward or back, because of box height limitations. Nikitaaa
I was sagnificantly louder on the meter when I had sub up, port back. It's what I would suggest for your vehicle. May I ask why you only have 13inch hight though? I pulled off 16.5inches the seat and window line. TheBetterMethod
Yeah man, I'm planning on sub up, port back. There might be a difference between generations, mine is the generation of Outback after yours, but I want to be able to slide the box all the way against the back of the seat and be able to slide the cargo cover over it. There's only about about 15 inches to play with under the cover. But I think it is about 16.5 to the window line, so they must be similar. Do you have a build log so I can take a look at your box? I'd really like to see it. Quote 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon Pioneer 9400BH Fi Q 15, SAZ1500dV3 The first build>>> http://www.stevemead...-outback-build/ 140.9 @ 36hz Sealed on dash! TheBetterMethod
Ok. I just did some more measurements and made some considerations. I think I'll can the original idea, and go with a box with a more traditional port orientation. I'm thinking 24x13.5x29.5 Port internal and to the hatch. Sub up, toward the rear of the box, above the port. It looks like I'll be able to get up to about 6in. between the port and hatch. So I guess that's that, unless someone comes up with something else before I start cutting wood. Thanks again to everyone for their input. Anymore input is also welcome! TheBetterMethod
John, I appreciate the effort your putting into trying to convince me to use a slot port. But I'm not going to use a slot port this time. I'm pretty set on the Aero, so that's what I'll be using. TheBetterMethod
I can shrink the box slightly to 24x27.5 And I end up with a port ratio of 7.94:1 That might be better. Net volume drops to just under 3.6. Quote 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon Pioneer 9400BH Fi Q 15, SAZ1500dV3 The first build>>> http://www.stevemead...-outback-build/ 140.9 @ 36hz Sealed on dash! Nikitaaa
Ah, it may be different in your Outback. Unfortunately I don't have a build log. I wish I did :/ Good luck with everything though, those aeros should make your box pretty efficient. TheBetterMethod
That's too bad man. I guess I can't blame you seeing as how I don't have a build log either. Thanks for the luck though, I'll need it. I think it'll work out pretty well.
