Well I'm much further along than I'll be posting right here, I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with my pictures.

IMG_2482.jpg

Chopping up the other door panels. Changed the design so I needed new panels....

IMG_2484.jpg

Single wood panel instead of MDF rings. Fit much better and I think I can wrap the fleece and vinyl easier. I felt this would be a better result and so did many others.

IMG_2490.jpg

With the door closed. Fits like a glove.

IMG_2492.jpg

Just more test fitting.

IMG_2504.jpg

Some cosmetic work. I've removed the insert because I'm doing a 2-tone vinyl pattern with Grey as the main color and Black as the insert.

IMG_2506.jpg

Carpet's coming off.

IMG_2508.jpg

IMG_2510.jpg

IMG_2512.jpg

Stretching Fleece.

IMG_2514.jpg

IMG_2516.jpg

Looking good.

IMG_2518.jpg

With the insert.

IMG_2522.jpg

Ready for Resin. They do fit, by the way. MORE TO COME!!! :)

  • 5 weeks later...

Alright so the doors turned out better than I could've expected. They're fully vinyled and they scream! Anyway, here is the final stages of the build.

IMG_2565.jpg

Lots of resin. Don't worry, I'll clean it up.

IMG_2567.jpg

Checking fitment.

IMG_2569.jpg

Cleaned the holes up.

IMG_2571.jpg

Everything I need for glassing.

IMG_2573.jpg

First time's always a mess. Can I get a giggity?

IMG_2575.jpg

IMG_2577.jpg

Sanded and sitting where it's supposed to be.

IMG_2579.jpg

IMG_2607.jpg

Bondo.

IMG_2625.jpg

More sanding :\

IMG_2678.jpg

Sneak Peak

IMG_2680.jpg

Special thanks to the Electronics Depot here in Apopka Fl for the vinyl work. (no experience, didn't want to screw it up, complicated wrap.)

IMG_2684.jpg

Gluing the insert to the main panel.

IMG_2686.jpg

Notice the Dynamat on the metal frame? AWWWWW YEAAAAH. Fits a little tight but it fits.

IMG_2688.jpg

Not bad for a first time.

I love the way they sound. And they blend well with the Precision Power PT.2 Bullet Tweeters on my dashboard. More to come!

Preview of the back doors. Not even close to as complex as the front doors. I figure it'll be loud enough with one 8" and a tweeter. Anyway, here's the beginning.

IMG_2609.jpg

IMG_2611.jpg

Looks rough but I know what I'm doing.

IMG_2613.jpg

Like usual, removing the insert.

IMG_2615.jpg

Getting rid of the joints.

IMG_2617.jpg

IMG_2619.jpg

IMG_2621.jpg

IMG_2623.jpg

Looking a little better

IMG_2676.jpg

Ohhhhh that looks good!

Sorry to tease like this. All I have for now. They're fleeced but I think I'm just going to do one big post from start to finish on the back doors.

This is my first attempt. Go for it man! Take your time and read up on the process of how to fiberglass the doors.

I like how you just jumped into it. I can cut my truck apart for a blow through but my mind still can't grasp fiberglassing haha. Can't wait to see more work

looking good man

Thanks!

are does precision power super bullet tweeter sound good or what are your reviews on those tweeter?

Beautiful sounding tweeter. They mix incredibly well with both Selenium PAs as well as MMATS PAs. If you give them some gain, that's all you will hear. They never once have popped or distorted, no matter what I throw at them. I probably will never switch out those tweeters unless I do an SQ car, in which case I'll use soft dome. Try some out man, you can get a pair for $60 and they have supplied bass caps at 3k.

I find the only way I try something new or am motivated to get things done is if I jump right into something. I guess its action first, think later for me. It's not nearly as hard as it seems. Just have patience if you try fiberglassing and read up on the forum on how to do it.
