Matt Kummer Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 hello, so i am going to make a new box for my 15 inch DVC 500 rms 1000 watt max, powered by a 1000 watt amp. i have a 3 cubic foot sealed box. home made. witch fit my camaro but wrong for my explorer. so i am now going to build a 4 cubic foot vented box. slot not ported. my box will be about L 45 in H 19 D 8 = 3.95 CF. but i will be recessing my amp and power cap. ill find out how to get it in and still be close to 4 CF. so what i would like to know is how could i add a few more Db. i will be trying to get in to SPL comps this year. could i add baffles or something. can directing air flow help. i would like to know if i could do two slots both half the size of the manufact spec with the same sound or should i go with 1 slot to spec? anything helps. drawings and videos would be great.
