The big 3 on it... got the power for the alt to the battery and the ground right next to the battery on the nose... what would be the 3rd

MECHMAN Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Don't bother adding the ground from the battery to your engine, the OEM ground is sufficient for engine operation. Add a ground directly from your alternator or alternator mounting bolt to the battery negative. Add a ground directly from your battery negative to bare metal on your chassis. Add a charge cable directly from your alternator output stud to the battery positive. From there you can connect your audio or secondary batteries. I prefer to ground the amps directly to the battery. In the instance of multiple batteries it's best to ground the battery to chassis and directly to the primary battery.
