Help with electrical...

Ok so I am trying to learn as I go but since I am in the middle of a build I want it to be donr right the first time. I need helf figuring out what electrical to run, what and how many batteries, if a HO alt is necessary ect ect. I will be running a DC 3.5 k to a RE XXX 15 @ 1 ohm. (the sub is coming out soon as I am not a fan of it) I am doing the big three this weekend so I know that is covered. The XXX is rated at 2000 watts rms so my goal will be to give it around 2.2-2.5k of clean power and if it can handle a bit more then I will see if I can get 3k to it. I know box rise will play a role of how much the sub is seeing so I feel I will be ok, but like I said the sub is coming out soon for a DV m2 XL or something of the likes. So I want opinions on the electrical set up. Do I need a HO alt of just a few batteries. I know the strain of extra batts on the stock alt (90 amp lol) would probably be too much I assume??? If a HO is needed I was thinking 220amps. Is that overkill (which I know is not a problem) or is that not enough? What battery/batteries and all that good stuff would I be looking at. This is for a daily driver so it needs to be reliable. 2004 vw beetle btw (dont laugh) hahaha Right now i have the sub seeing about 1000 watts and the lights dim and the voltage drop is about 1 volt whe full tilt. This is w/o the big three and is on a doffernet amp than the DC 3.5 ....... Final question, when running a HO alt and a battery back, does it inerfere or cause any problem with stock electricals? Thanks again in advance for the help, I know there are formulas and such and I am a big do it myself type of guy, but I really need the help of some of you pros and vets out there to help me make sure that everything is on the up and up.

Definitely get the highest amperage alternator you can get. Then upgrade the battery, and add a battery or two in the rear. Be ready to shell out about $3000 really quick.

get the biggest alt you can.. my mechman 270 was like 500 with shipping.. grab an xs xp3000 and a d6500(or whatever d battery will fit under the hood) from audio savings by tomorrow before the sale ends and you should be good.. those 3 with cost about 1000 total..

awesome I was thinking 600 for the alt and about 5-600 for two batteries..... I am thinking the 270 amp would be good for my needs and one battery up front and another in the back was what i was thinking as well.....

no problem man good luck with your build.. i think if you get the xp3000 and a d battery before the end of today it should be about what your aiming for.. if you wait longer itll be about 150 more

You should be ok with a alt from mechman, dc, or singer. Get the largest battery to go under the hood that will fit, and add the biggest you can in the rear. I have 2 xs3400's, with a dc 250amp alt, on a crescendo 3k at .7 and voltage drops at full tilt to 12.7v at idle. I almost never play at idle,but at 1500rpm, little to no drop.
