VIPmeetSPL Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 were they showing signs of HIDs even working or do they look just like a stock color? Quote
Guest Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 35w hid's should be MUCH brighter than stock 55/65w bulbs. Quote
Diamond500 Posted April 15, 2012 Author Report Posted April 15, 2012 They were showing signs of Hids just not bright like a solid color kind of fading a bit. Quote
VIPmeetSPL Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 hmm because i bought a cheap ass kit and it didnt work right and all i did was flip the plug around and shit worked perfect Quote
Guest Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 (edited) hmm because i bought a cheap ass kit and it didnt work right and all i did was flip the plug around and shit worked perfect some cars have reversed polarity for the headlights. doesn't matter how cheap a kit is. if you buy a $10 ballast or a $300 ballast, you'll still have to reverse the plug going into it. edit: when the plug is in the wrong way, the ballast wont even fire whatsoever. ant the ninja Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 hmm because i bought a cheap ass kit and it didnt work right and all i did was flip the plug around and shit worked perfect That has to do with reverse polarity, not quite his issue, at least I dont think. Like Kranny said 35w should be much brighter than regular bulbs, I went with 55w but I dont have projectors. Could be a bad ballast and its not giving the correct power or something could be wrong with the bulb themselves, did you try switching the bulbs and ballasts around and see if it changes? Does one side look brighter than the other? Quote 2002 Ford Explorer XLT Front Stage: Crescendo CCX 6.5's Rear Stage: ??? Two 15" Powerbass M154 Audiopipe AP15001d Pioneer DEH-P5100UB
Diamond500 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Report Posted April 17, 2012 I didn't switch anything around to check but the right side seems to be a bit better then the left. Quote
xh3mpx Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 I didn't switch anything around to check but the right side seems to be a bit better then the left. how cheap of a Kit did you get? the "Xentec" brand?.. I had those and they were plain shitty. I now bought a set of Raptor V2 35w. 4500k . and They are Bright.. they are a little more expensive though.. you get what you pay for Quote
rogue Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 the depth that the bulb goes into the housing matters as well for how the light is focused thru the projectors lense. Play with it a little and watch how it changes. Quote BMW X5 Stealth Build w/ IPAD BMW 325i Rear Deck Digital Designs Build BMW 325i Car PC Touchscreen Bezel Build
EricM9104 Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 Have you tried hooking up the hid ballasts to the battery? Some factory wiring won't be able to provide enough amperes to fully power it...
