GTOguy Posted April 30, 2012 Author Report Share Posted April 30, 2012 put them on the sides since you will probably have to put the amp in the tire well. with my box there was no more room left for the amp anywere on top. I think I am going to run sub up port up because in my past 2 systems I experimented a little with just flipping it from up to back and it seemed louder sub and port up. I will probably double baffle the top and rear of the box and put my amps on the rear. I think I may try to wrap the box in red suede. then black or charcoal carpet or paint on the battery bracing. On those Pioneer speakers I still haven't put them in because with the adapter plates for the 6.75 the speakers don't clear the inside of the speaker grill. I am going to probably take a dremel to my door panels in the next few days to get them to fit because it seems like any not stock speaker will have problems. Also could you either pm me or post on here some pics of where you ran your 1/0 wire through your fire wall? GTOguy Posted May 2, 2012 Author Report Share Posted May 2, 2012 A little bit of excitement for this build tonight. I actually feel like I accomplished something. I order 60 feet of OFC 1/0 wire, my sub, and my stinger volt meter. I think tomorrow or the next day I will have my amp figured out. I'm trying to decide between a new Crescendo BC3500 and a year old used AQ 3500.1. I went to the Meca show at DC's mobile electronics in Evansville today and had a great time hopefully the next show I am at I will have something playing. I also finished high school other than a graduation project so I will have some more time to mess with this set up. I'll post plenty of pics as these next parts come in. Kind of out of preparation for this build I pulled the parts the shop I used to use installed. (ENTER RANT MODE): I was simply said disgusted... Discount Audio KY is god awful with anything.... I had a ground on the inner skin of my rear quarter panel, my bluetooth mic on my headunit has a 20 foot cord and instead of twist tying or zip tying it so it wasn't everywhere under my dash they just stuffed it up under my console, I had them install the swi with my headunit now the volume controls barely work but when I pull the headunit and wiggle the wires they work well for a few days, I had my car tinted there and now my 10 month old lifetime warranteed tint has small bubbles everywhere( i guess for someone is isn't as ocd about their cars appearance wouldn't care about small bubbles), the thing that really tops off the whole situation was when my Alpine Type R 15" stopped playing I went to them and they said "I don't know how you f*cked it up that bad". Well the how is because it wasn't f*cking blown.... They then proceeded to try to sell a brand new type R for 400+ dollars and told me it was a deal "because they wouldn't charge me tax" I told them I was I considering re-doing everything anyway and that I was going to use Fi, Crescendo, DC, or AQ. The salesman there proceeded to tell me the "oblivious 18 year old" that all those companies sucked and that only companies that they carry are good and told me I was much better using kicker or JL. I just had to leave at this point to avoid laughing at this guy.... That's my plan have them strip my tint before I have the car re-tinted. I ordered some RCA's tonight. i ordered from sonicelectronix so I will get them tuesday probably. I think I may work on this set up a lot this week.
