Question on Amp

This amp I just got is a monoblock but with two sets of speaker terminals. My subs are wired like this currently. http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg To their own seperate channel off a 4 channel at the moment. Could I just put each sub like they are in the speaker terminals and would they still see 4 ohms? Because in order to do this

The protect light on this amp came on from the first time I hooked it up. P600.1bd, so I i am guessing this amp is no good then huh

damn buddy, your hitting wall after wall..... try not to get to down, or frustrated, but i know how it can be man...... did you just recieve this amp? or have you been running it for a while? if you've been running it, what changed? if anything.... and wait, is it THERMAL? or PROTECT? .... In my world, those are different... and could be different issues.... know what im sayin?

edit - also, i remember you posting a thread on the JBL's, is this the subs we are talking about? i thought you bought D2ohm subs?????? or are we now on something different?

that amp is stable down to 2 ohms. you have to wire them together to 4 ohms like in the second picture you linked. im willing to bet you wired that amp to 1 ohm if you didnt unsolder any connections and you just plugged them into the amp, hence the protect light.

Thats is what im thinking, I guess you could try and remove all speaker outputs, and see if it protects/thermals, and then break out the meter. And again, where im from, thermal and protect can be different. Different "alarms" and different issues.....

This is the amp that I was going to purchase locally, the owner let me grab it and bring to my house to hook up and see if it worked. he hasn't used it in over a year and didn't remember. He was asking $100 for it two. The sub has not been purchased, I will not be buying the IVX-15 until I get an amp for my subs.

It protected without any subs connected, from the instant the power light came on so did protect. I did hook up a single sub to see if it'd do anything but nothing happened. I mean this that I hooked it up first without any subs connected.

Edit: Question: I know there are companies that can fix amps. Any chance if I can get this off him for free if it is a paper weight. To maybe pay the 100+ to get it fixed?
