ALAMO695
Hey guys, my friend has 2 dc xl m1 12's reconed by psi with an upgraded vc to increase power handling. He was telling me that he was going to sell them because the box requirements were too big. He got a design From someone on caco and the guy said he should get a 4.5cf (34"wx14"hx27"d). When i read on the dc site, they recommend 1.5cf for each 12. He is going to be pushing a 5k on it, but he needs to have the smallest box possible. What are some good dimensions for a good box tuned to 30hz or 31hz, slot port in the middle and as small as possible, max dimensions are 34”w x 14”h Edited April 25, 2012 by ALAMO695
CJ18
Not really sure what vc psi could have put in there to increase power handling. If dont right the XLs can handle alot of power. Given the fact that the recommended airspaces are based on RMS ratings and the m1 XLs are rated for 1500w and he wants to push 2500w per sub, I would probably go a tad smaller then what is listed on the site. 1.25ft3 net per sub with 14-16in2 of port per 1ft3. jj53913
I ran a sd8k on 2 m1 xl12s. I was right at 1.3 cu ft slot down the middle I want to say I was 14-15 cu in of port tuned to 30. Did a 152@34 Hz. Things where beasts!
