8ight Posted May 1, 2012 Report Share Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) Building a new single-sub system for my daily-driver. I'm on a budget som I'm going with a Hifonics BRZ1200.1D amp. Will wiring a Pioneer Champion Pro TS-W3002D2 down to one ohm on that amp blow it or cause damage to it without adjusting the gain down? I'm fairly certain it can handle the additional 200w RMS, but I don't know if Pioneer has gotten worse in the 10 years since I have purchased one of their products.. Tune everything right and you shouldn't have a problem. Mine were hooked up to a brz 1200 as well. This is just one going on that amp. @AB18VFL It's the wattage I'm pushing that I'm worried about, not the impedance. I also swapped amps and put them on my bxi1610, wired down to .5ohm and they were seeing some dirty power at times, but they are still bumping today. Don't have any experience with them, but people have said that their build quality has gone down and aren't as reliable as they used to be.
