RF T1D412 ideal enclosure

I just picked up this sub and stuffed it in an off-the-shelf ported box that is too small (1.4^3 ft) and tuned too high (~48hz) and I was sort of underwhelmed by its performance. I checked with RF and they recommend a 1.25^3 ft sealed box, does anybody know if this figure is accounting for woofer displacement? Has anybody done something different that makes this speaker come alive?

actually i have ran a t1 series 12 before

in more like 2.2 cubes net tuned to 30hz on a audiopipe 1500d 14" of port per cube.. rockford specs are just horrable

they ported design they give its like 10" of port per cube and still tuned wayyy high

if they are in the right ported box they sound amazing

the 2 that I have shake my neighbors windows 5 houses down from mine

i would build a box about 2.75 cubes after displacement and port

but its up to you

I can just toss in what I've got rolling. The recommended tuning (IMHO) may be high, upper 30's, and I'm around 36. And if I could do it again, I would also tune lower. Low 30's, as I'm not upset by the performance, but not warm and fuzzy about it either. Just my 2 cents

Hey bro, can I ask what your tuned to? And are you at 2.75? I'm at 3.8ad, and upper 30's...where are you ?
