sub getting warm/hot

Hi all just a (hopfully) simple question, i just got a soundstream splx-152hx its rated at 1250wRMS its getting no more then 800wRMS at the moment yet the dust cap is getting warm not what i would say is hot but enough to have me worry given its only getting 800w, iv gone over it a few times now, made sure coils are wired right, polarity, ohms, ect. its in a good size with a big port so its not that (did a free air test too). am i just worried for nothing or is it something to keep a eye on.

Subs are designed to get warm that is normal operation.

Just keep a close eye oh HOW hot. boiling hot melting skin motors are not good.

make sure your amp isnt clipping

clipping is my guess
