Zapanater
That's a nice lookin bow there Thanks man! Nice design, something different. Why the 28 tuning though? These subs are known for playing VERY low. A guy a while back did a 151 at 15 hz with three of them. Admittedly he had 3k apiece on them... But I've had them in a low tuned enclosure before and they just crush the lows on half that power. So I figured I might as well. 2015 Subaru Outback. That is all, I refuse to touch it. Zapanater
Got started hardcore today. Got my wood yesterday but had to finish up my truck so I can sell it, and then my dad wanted me to change the halfshafs on his bonneville so that took a few hours this morning. Anyhow this is how she started: What could be under there? Two sheets of 3/4" MDF of course. 25 bucks a sheet at Menards. Love it. Anyhow cut right to cutting. Deal is that I have VERY limited tools I'm a car guy, not bob the builder. I have a cirular saw that cuts angles. THAT IS ALL. So bear with me Chopped it all up and yielded this pile. Why is it sideways? Damnit photoshop no you don't know which way's up. Tacket it together real quick to make sure it'll all fit right. It does, with a little filing of rough edges. Not bad for a nineteen year old with his dad's circular saw eh? Burn in hell photoshop. Got to glueing everything together. Jackstands aplenty fortunately. And did my litle experiment with kitty hair. My conclusion: It seals it up very nicely, and adds a TON of strength. But there is no way to get it to look pretty. Im gonna have to sand until the proverbial cow comes home. And yes I know I need a new palate. Its actually the last cutout hole from a box i made like years ago. There shall be more tomorrow. Still gotta cut the angles into the bottom and top boards. 2015 Subaru Outback. That is all, I refuse to touch it.

Colin - STAPUFT
I really like your build. My brother-in-law had a probe back in the day & put 2 of the subs I have now in it. All I know is that it got way louder than it had the right to wit those speakers. Box is shaping up very nicely. Original for sure. Probes have an ability to necessitate strange shaped boxes though- Oh, and sick amps brother. Good score on those. 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain. I've seen your work, and I love it. Means alot bro! And yah these thing seem to get awfully loud very quickly. I thik it's just the way they're contoured and streamlined. Plus for some reason sound doesn't escape them real well. My buddy with two kicker comps is louder outside the car than I was with two hx2 15"s on twice as many watts. Inside is an entirely different matter though. More pics coming pronto! Like as soon as I can upload them on my photoshop. Everything is in and functioning. Sounds BEAUTIFUL! 2015 Subaru Outback. Zapanater
So i've been working my ass off the last few days, and haven't had a otn of time to post pictures. SO there is quite a few. Anyhow here's where let off. Just prefitting everything before putting the top on. My little ghetto circle jig. A screw and a drill bit and some scrap wood. She fits beautifully. Now for everyone's favorite part, lots of drilling and screwing. And then cutting out the double baffle. this was tricky. I did half of it on the floor. My jigsaw wouldn't have been able to cut into that corner so I had to do it beforehand. But i didn't want to cut the whole thing because it would have messed up my baffle, making it into ssentially four peices. This thing is a TIGHT fit. Anyhow My jigsaw was doing work. I broke two brand new bits. But that said and done, I've accomplished alot. Haven't reall done aloth of sanding yet at this point, but i put a full quart of bondo all over this thing so you can imagine all the dust. More pics coming too. 2015 Subaru Outback. Zapanater
A full quart of kitty hair gone into the corners. A brief test fit: I miscalculated teh openings, so had to eff up my nice holes with the grinder... Started royally poring on me. Shortly afterwards I ran out and hauled it into the garage. Box weighs as much as I do so that was fun. (150lbs) I was sore in the morning. Rain kept up fo rthe rest of the day so I had to do my sanding indoors. PISS! I just cleaned it up in the garage. Ohhhhh so sexy. And then I painted. Or primered rather. I'm gonna hold off on the paint until I pick the color for my car. It'll match. Still more pics of course. 2015 Subaru Outback. Zapanater
Yeah! Bitch fits like a glove. Exact measurements paid off. Also remember this is just primer. Then I decided I didn't wannd rill holes in the box, so I made an amp rack/ false floor of sorts. Now time to start wiring! Lots of wiring..... This pic will give me a woody if I look at it too long. And there you have it. It'll be done for awhile now. Next step is paint for my car. Still not sure what color(s). I do like black and red. So we'll see. Once agan, th ebox color is TEMPORARY. AS far as volume.... we'll see. It's too late for me to crank it in my neighborhood. Just from preliminary testing it slams GOOOD. Major flex. I et I can pull a hair trick wihtout too much trouble. But I'll take videos tomorrow if I can find a camera, adn prove my jibber jabber. Thanks for tuning in. 2015 Subaru Outback. That is all, I refuse to touch it.
