Please clarify port displacement...

which method is correct...fig. 1 or fig. 2?....have heard both ways...wondering what is right/how u guys do it??

Figure two is correct. also when figuring total box volume you need to subtract the port wall as well. so you would subtract the red area in fig 2 plus the port wall from your total volume to figure out the actual box volume
