MrSkippyJ Posted May 25, 2012 Report Share Posted May 25, 2012 (edited) Most often, you want your sub level on the H/U to be close or all the way up. The bass level (the EQ setting) you want at 0. No you do not ground the DD-1 when checking RCA signals. You can use either R or L channel, as far as I know. I would stay away from using the track that makes it the loudest, use either the -5 or 0db track, not sure what track nubers they are. urbana4 Posted May 25, 2012 Author Report Share Posted May 25, 2012 Ok so to check head unit clipping just turn sub level all the way up, bass and treble at 0, plug either my r or l channel into the dd-1, play track 1 (40hz 0db) and turn it up until I get clipping, then back down a hair. Next, turn deck up to that volume, ground dd-1, connect positive probe to positive terminal on amp that goes to sub, and adjust gain while playing appropriate track correct?
