In need of desperate help!

hello, i am in need of someones assistance. I recently bought a Re SX 18' sub and the box, but the box would not fit its 6 cubic feet, i have an impala 03 the trunk is pretty big, i found this website where you could put in the measurements so they can send me a custom box, but im new to the custom boxes i dont know what measurements to put? here is a link to the website i found http://www.klausaudio.com/shop/custom-enclosures/single-18-subwoofer-boxes.php, can someone please help me out, or else im gonna have to sell it wich i really dont want to, i love how it sounds i put it in my back seat for a couple days to test it out. here is what i purchased http://www.amazon.com/Package-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Speaker-Terminal/dp/B004F5GPBE/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_7

thats tough. getting a box that is 6cubes through the trunk opening... probably wont happen. you would need to build it inside the trunk. i think your eyes were bigger than your mouth on this one. an 18" in a trunk is no easy thing.

3-4cuft is hard enough to get through the truck door let alone 6-7

If I were you find someone in you area with some good boxbuilding skills and employe them to build it or hit someone up to design one and build it yourself

Either way an 18 in the trunk is going to be some monster flex in the rear and not much noise up front unless you can seal it off

If you can't figure out a way to make this work, it might be possible but you'll end up doing a lot more work than if it fit fine. You might want to look into getting a 15 and using about 3.25 ft^3 instead :/

thanks for the replys i appreciate it, i will be selling it then along with the box, im going back to the two 15's i had, but im going to get some kicker L7's soon what amp do you think would be good enough to power two of these?

If you get the L715's you are going to be in the same boat

You'll need to build in car

I normally build 6-7net each for theis on 750-1000rms

I've found 7net with 90sq" of port on 1000rms work a treat (its out of spec and not recomemend but does it hit like crazy)

So you gonna need 12cuft net @ 1500rms for 2 of these as a starting point

You may want to work out a box builder and design first before you drop a tonn of cash on them

if you had two 15"s in your trunk you must have had a sealed box. now you wont ever believe me here but you can fit two 12"s in a trunk in a ported box. listen to folk on this forum for a good pair of 12"s and a good amp to match (based on your budget. something we need to know) and then get help on a good design on a ported box. that setup will get louder than cramming two 15"s in a small sealed box. i promise you.
