bass_stalker
do any of you guys have experience with small diesel engines, id like to eventually make a small diesel vehicle almost like a gokart but alittle bigger. so far the smallest engines i can find are about 30 hp but i would like to use something abit smaller. so my question is do they make small diesel engines with less than 30hp and with a side shaft or back shaft. bass_stalker
mostly because its different but also because they have alot of torque and i love the sound of em Quote JEEP BUILD PROJECT ANTIBLING.2000 jeep Cherokee.HEADUNITAlpine Cda-9886SUBSTAGE1 acendent 18" audio mayhem motor with a TI basket and tantric parts1 prototype DAT hellfire 1000.1HIGHSStockELECTRICALdb link 0 gaugeKnuconceptz Kolossus 4 gauge1 xs power d3400 under hoodBig 3 upgradeold fourwheeler build The only way to delete your SMD account is for you crawl to steve meades door step on your knees and pleade for his forgiveness and acceptance to be released...He will either grant your wishes.....or choke you with a large piece of 0 gauge and electrocute you by hooking up a solid gold DC 12k at 0.000001 ohm and 10000 volts to your eye sockets and blow your head apart You guys act like you have never clogged a toilet and ran around the bathroom frantically hoping it don't overflow. 9515ROB
the biggest down fall is they take alot to get going and really arent made for speed. Even if you get a turbo powered engine you will have to do alot of mods to it so you get a quicker spool from the turbo so it just takes off instead of waiting for that turbo to spool up. bass_stalker
well mostly what i'm thinking about using this for would be light yard work and trail riding so speed wouldnt be much of an issue as long as i can get 20-30 mph out of it. right now this is a few years off i'm mainly asking right now so i can weigh my options and try to come up with a design, mostly all i have at this point is a rear end out of a john deere tractor and a 8,000lb hydraulic winch Quote JEEP BUILD PROJECT ANTIBLING.2000 jeep Cherokee.HEADUNITAlpine Cda-9886SUBSTAGE1 acendent 18" audio mayhem motor with a TI basket and tantric parts1 prototype DAT hellfire 1000.1HIGHSStockELECTRICALdb link 0 gaugeKnuconceptz Kolossus 4 gauge1 xs power d3400 under hoodBig 3 upgradeold fourwheeler build The only way to delete your SMD account is for you crawl to steve meades door step on your knees and pleade for his forgiveness and acceptance to be released...He will either grant your wishes.....or choke you with a large piece of 0 gauge and electrocute you by hooking up a solid gold DC 12k at 0.000001 ohm and 10000 volts to your eye sockets and blow your head apart You guys act like you have never clogged a toilet and ran around the bathroom frantically hoping it don't overflow. bobobass
If you look hard enough, you should be able to find one. I have seen some 8hp diesel motors from old generators. bobobass
You could also use somthing like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CJ1V4a45zg I'm using this in a project of mine an it was from an old 3000 watt generator. It has a prety damn good amount of torque for a gas powered. motor Quote 2000 Subaru outback 2.5l Head Unit: Pioneer deh 4300ub front stage: tbd subwoofer: Stock Fi Q 18" amp: Audio que 1200d
1996BLKBauer
I know CAT makes small Diesel engines. My buddy just bought a mower with CAT diesel for his lawn care service. That thing is a beast, and has more then enough power. Quote 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 AWD So far with the Ford/JBL Stock Stereo system, Alpine System coming soon.
