lotus
(2 12s) my box is 15high x 32.5wide x 25deep. (25 deep with baffle over subs) the port length is 21.5inches all together and the box has 2 1inch dowels crossed for bracing. port is 13.5 x 4.5 and i believe tuned to 36.33hz, i built a port extension (9inch) what will this make my tuning? and how much of an extension do i need to tune my box down to 32hz? tejarillo
Can you defined or describe the "port extension" is it the same width and height?
mttornquist
I think I understand what your saying. You go from this: To this: After sub displacement that should put you at just under 32Hz assuming your port extension is 13 x 4.5 as well. Wait for a second opinion though, I may be wrong on that. lotus
y would it be 30.5? it says inner dimensions so doesn't that still make it 21.5? and its 3 common walls and .28 woofer displacement with 1 baffle Quote 2010 Cobalt LT Coupe Subs: 2 American bass XFL 12s Amp: Crescendo BC3500D Big 3 in 1/0awg 29hz box stinger volt meter 2nd battery Deka 9a31 pioneer DEH-9400BH
mttornquist
y would it be 30.5? it says inner dimensions so doesn't that still make it 21.5? and its 3 common walls and .28 woofer displacement with 1 baffle because you are adding a 9 inch extension. 21.5+9= 30.5 Then you see I added 9 to the length of external port? that shows the calculator that those extra 9 inches will not be inside the box therefore they will not be subtracted from the net volume. EDIT: Your final tuning will be 30.95Hz if you add that 9" extension. mttornquist
no i meant 30.95 Hz. That's what I came up with after I added up all the displacements for real, your dowels go the 32.5 inch way right?
