Audio4Lyfe Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Hello, I'm going to help a buddy build a box and wanted to see what you guys would recommend or what design you could come up with because i don't know if i should go slot port or go with what pioneer recommends which is a round port (3" X 3.5"). The sub is a pioneer TS-W3002D2 12" Ideal ported recommendation- 1.2Cft Car's max dimensions - H=16 D=20 W=30 Any help appreciated, Thanks!

Companies like to suggest small boxes and small ports, that way you can fit more of their product in your install. Joe X Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Ok here is a suggestion for 3002 good for trunk/hatchback vehicles, port/sub front or back firing: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 34 Hz Vb = 1.5 ft^3 External Height = 15 in External Width = 27 in External Depth = 13 in Port Width = 1 3/4 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front & Back = 27 x 15 Left & Right Sides = 11 1/2 x 13 1/2 Top & Bottom = 27 x 11 1/2 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 9 3/4 x 13 1/2 Extension = 18 x 13 1/2 If you want something different or have any questions let me know.
Audio4Lyfe Posted June 2, 2012 Author Report Posted June 2, 2012 Thanks a lot Joe X! Now idk if you guys carpet your enclosures at all but, if i carpet it would i just make the front back top and bottom sides an inch longer so i can tuck the fabric in then staple it?
