Doug Lauver
I am new to this forum but not new to car audio and modding. Here is a build log from this past week from me installing my system in my 08 Nissan Altima. Just to note to not take credit for someone elses work I did not construct the fiberglass pieces. I purchased them. Day 1 I received the 2 12" Rockford Fosgate P2 dvc subs and sub box. Along with 2 Arc audio amps (1000.1 and a 300.4) and 2 custom made amp bases. By douglauver138 at 2012-05-29 By douglauver138 at 2012-05-29 Also I routed the 2nd 4gauge power wire to the trunk nice and neatly routed along one of the factory wire harnesses. By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 In this picture you can see what Nissan calls a subwoofer. It's the small black thing. By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 Day 2 I started preping all the wiring on the back of the amp bases for easy connection once in the trunk. By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 Takin a break... By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 Once the weekend came I got the rest all finished. Getting more wires ran into the trunk. By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 Took the subs back out to mount the box to the car and connect more wires. She is starting to come together! By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 Subs are re-mounted. By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 Amps in place and getting wired up. By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 WIRES, WIRES, WIRES!!! By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 Front fascia piece in place and all wires tucked away! By douglauver138 at 2012-06-04 By douglauver138 at 2012-06-05 That's how she sits as of now. I work in a machine shop and I am going to re-make the front fascia to make it a better fit and I am going to make a diamond plate floor piece and cut the Rockford symbol in the center. Once it is all done I will post more pictures. I really like how it turned out and it sounds great.
JasonJones
What did you do for mids and highs upgrade? And how much boom do you get from the trunk? It all looks really nice and clean but sealing off a trunk like that with no way to port into the cabin(that I can see) is probably hurting you. Crandis16
Looks really good and clean. This is Andrew btw and welcome to the forum. What did you do for mids and highs upgrade? And how much boom do you get from the trunk? It all looks really nice and clean but sealing off a trunk like that with no way to port into the cabin(that I can see) is probably hurting you. Does that apply to sealed, as well as ported boxes Edited June 6, 2012 by Crandis16 Quote My Red zx2 Build Log My Black zx2 Build Log My Red zx2 UBL
bassface
Im curious to see what is the factory subwoofer screwed into, is it a box under the seat or something?
Crandis16
Im curious to see what is the factory subwoofer screwed into, is it a box under the seat or something? I just realized that I have the same thing in my car. In 1998 it was fully loaded and even had a "premium" sound system lol. I did notice wires running to it so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a subwoofer but I'm not really sure right now Quote My Red zx2 Build Log My Black zx2 Build Log My Red zx2 UBL
Doug Lauver
As far as the mids and highs I have a factory bose sound system so I did not upgrade them yet. It sounds really nice for not having it ported into the car.
JasonJones
So you're using the Arc 300.4 to amp those Bose or just not using it right now? And any plans on porting the rear lid or anything?
Doug Lauver
So you're using the Arc 300.4 to amp those Bose or just not using it right now? And any plans on porting the rear lid or anything? Correct it's powering the bose. I wasn't sure how it would sound with the stock speakers but it sounds really nice. Bose puts some nice systems in cars. I do not plan on porting the rear deck right now. I am still working on the trunk as far as making the fit and finish perfect. The sound is great the only part I may want to change out is the front door speakers. I feel as though it I changed those out to some speakers with good highs it would sound a lot better. The only part that seems lacking are the highs.
