All cards are rated at certain speeds, on my camera for example I have 600x because I record video and if I want to shoot raw images quickly 7 shots a second I need a card that can transfer 25mb pictures quickly. Obviously for a head unit youre not going to need 600x but if you get a slow SD card or a 1 gen ipod it will work slower. Also in usb there is high speed transfer rates and normal rates.

That's true, but you will rarely find low speed cards anymore. Everything is all up to date mostly with USB and SD cards. Theres no USB 1.0 anymore for PC's, all USB ports on HU's are 2.0 at minimum. Same goes for SD cards, I don't know what version they use. But they do not use old slow outdated ones. Also, I didn't realize it, but SD cards are slow as shit. USB 2.0 is at a minimum of 10mb/sec, and that's only on really shitty usb flash drives. Most USB flash drives can run a hell of a lot faster than that. Most can easily run from 15-20MB/sec. If your lucky enough to have usb 3.0 you can even get speed up to 100mb/s. So thanks for pointing out that link, that just proved USB is fast than SD. Thanks for helping me pull myself out of talking out of of my ass hahaha

haha no worries I remember before I worked at a photography studio I was confused how one CF card could be faster than another when it looked like the same exact card
