Lilnate107
Ok Im gonna build a new box to house my Polk Audio MM1540DVC's. box needs to be 5 cubes after displacement and port but I cant decide If I want to tune for 32Hz or 35Hz. I do compete in SPL so Im more interested in higher scores verses lower notes. Whats everybody else think??? Lilnate107
Im leaning more towards 35 myself but I figured Id get a few professional opinions lol. I have em in a 6 cube box tuned to 32 HZ and they do 144.5's all day but they peak at 43 Hz being in such a big box Quote 08' Pontiac Grand Prix Black on Black Kenwood Deck 2 Polk Audio MM1540DVC's Audiobahn A12001DT amp Polk Audio DB351's in dash, DB6501's in the doors, DB691's in the rear panels Polk Audio PA500.4 amp Old box 6.2 cubes at 32Hz best score 144.5db at 43Hz New box 5.0 cubes tuned to 35-36Hz still need to meter

AMERICAN BASSHEAD
NIETHER, If u want high scores and dont care about "LOW" notes do 40hz u will score higher plus unless all u listen to is chopped and screwed bull shit low 30's is worthless
Lilnate107
I think I could live with a 40Hz. I like some lows but not like 32 and lower, its hard as hell to get high scores with low freqs, I dont have the power nor money to throw at it to be doing 145's under 35Hz haha Quote 08' Pontiac Grand Prix Black on Black Kenwood Deck 2 Polk Audio MM1540DVC's Audiobahn A12001DT amp Polk Audio DB351's in dash, DB6501's in the doors, DB691's in the rear panels Polk Audio PA500.4 amp Old box 6.2 cubes at 32Hz best score 144.5db at 43Hz New box 5.0 cubes tuned to 35-36Hz still need to meter
Torres
a difference of a few hz won't play as big of a role as the box/port itself imo
Guest
if you're competing for money, then tune higher. if you're gonna compete like every 6 months for a medal or something, then tune lower. my opinion
Lilnate107
The box build and port def make a big difference, but trying to find a tune you like for daily use and competeing in harder then I imagined. Ill probly do 35 or higher and if I dont like it ill just redo it lol. Appreciate the feed back though! Torres
generally mid 30's is what i like for daily use. but finding one for daily and competing are two different things. pretty much gotta pick one or the other
