If your 2000 explorer has the same cargo area as my 1998 mountaineer, here's my dimentions:

This is here mostly for my own reference, so that I don't have to remeasure again:

Plastic molding on floor in from of hatch, edge where carpet stops to hatch: 3.5"

Top of Rear Seat to edge of plastic molding: 36"

Bottom of rear seat to plastic molding: 38"

Inside wheel well to inside wheel well: 42"

Floor to top of rear seat (at a 90' angle, not length of the back of seat): 19"

Door opening width (Thinnest point): 47"

Door opening Height: 33"

Inside wheel well to side panel: 4.5"

Height of floor to roof (Highest Point): 36"

*New vehicle and system coming soon.*

Right iwnichols09 you need about 4 inches of free space in front of the port, make sure you have that, if you don't it can be done a little taller and not as deep just to let the port breathe. I have reduced to 38" deep see if that helps.
